Constructed for the 2006 Commonwealth Games, the State Lawn Bowls Centre and Training Velodrome at John Cain Memorial Park in Darebin Road, Thornbury is now complete. The Centre and Velodrome is a world class facility that hostws the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games Lawn Bowls competition.

The State Cycling Centre is a new venue built for the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games. The 250m indoor velodrome is part of the new Darebin International Sports Complex which also includes the State Soccer Centre and State Lawn Bowls Centre. The velodrome was built on the former site of the Northcote Velodrome. The new venue is Victoria's first perminent indoor cycling track. While Vodafone Arena is Victoria's premier track, it isn't a full-time cycling venue. Victoria's main annual cycling events will be shared between the two venues.

Northland Shopping Centre boast a strong mix of retail outlets all on one level, making it the premier shopping destination in the north. Driving from Melbourne Airport or Sydney take the Bell Street exit off of the Tullermarine Highway. Keep on Bell Street for approximately 5k`s and we are on the left hand side opposite the Rydges on Bell complex.
