Every room has its own ensuite with the more luxurious rooms featuring spas, four-poster, half-tester or antique beds. Sit in the drawing room and enjoy complimentary port or relax in our private courtyard garden.

This Golden Chain accommodation provides beautifully decorated rooms with antique furnishings and decor. All rooms have heating, electric blankets, fans, direct dial telephones, bar fridges, colour TV and tea and coffee facilities. Broadband internet access is available and a hearty continental buffet breakfast is included. Our rooms are serviced daily and there is a guest laundry and dry cleaning service available. We have a non-smoking policy in guest rooms and inside public areas. There is limited off street parking, free voucher parking and tour bookings can be arranged.

Previously the home of many well known Tasmanians including one premier, The Lodge on Elizabeth in Hobart was built by convicts in 1829 and is listed by the National Trust. We are conveniently situated within minutes walk to the city's many restaurants with a wide variety of cuisine. There are many tourist attractions within close proximity for both the adventurous and those looking for something a little more tranquil.

Things to see in Hobart:

One can wander the docklands of the city, take a harbour cruise on Storm Bay or drive to the summit of Mt Nelson or Mt Wellington for spectacular views of the coast and hinterland. Head south to discover the wineries of the Coal River Valley, home of superb cool-climate wines, and further afield the scenic beauty of the Huon Valley with it's art and craft, local farm and sea produce, apple blossoms and vineyards.

Finding Us

The Lodge on Elizabeth is centrally located in Hobart, in southeastern Tasmania. Bass Strait is the sea-road to Tasmania. The route is serviced by two superfast ships, Spirit of Tasmania I and II which offer an overnight service in both directions between Melbourne and Devonport in the north, seven days a week. For those travelling by air, Qantaslink, Virgin, Jetstar and Regional Express operate frequent services to Tasmania.
