The Herbert Valley Motel is situated in Ingham, the southern gateway to the Wet Tropics World Heritage listed rain forests of Tropical North Queensland. We have 30 ground floor suites. Our 3 star rooms are large and were refurbished during 2008 with modern decor. Enjoy wildlife views from your bedroom window, remote control television, split system air conditioning, hair dryer, microwave, iron and ironing board, tea and coffee making facilities.

We are 100 metres back from highway, under cover car parking in front of most suites, ample parking for trailers, boats, buses, trucks and semi trailers.
Things To See and Do in Ingham
While here enjoy the many attractions we have in our area. The Tyto Wetlands Information Centre is 800 metres south of the town centre and showcases the spectacular birdlife and natural attractions of the region. Within easy walking distance of the centre is Tyto Wetlands - a "Birdwatcher's Paradise". The wetlands 3.5 kilometre nature walk is only 200 metres from the motel. The wetlands are home to more than 230 different species, including the Eastern Grass Owl. Hundreds of Agile Wallabies also appear at the Wetlands in the afternoon and early morning, certainly adding to the wildlife experience.
Take a one hour drive to Wallaman Falls see its sheer drop of water over 300 metres. North-east of Ingham is the majestic Hinchinbrook Island. The region has no less than six recreational National Parks, State Forests and islands, making it a very special part of the North Queensland region. Another point of interest is Victoria Mill, CSR'S first refining mill in Qld established in 1883. Numerous beaches and fishing spots. Lucinda Jetty which is over 5.5 kilometres out to sea. Viewing the cane harvesting when in season.
The township of Ingham, known for its large Italian community, celebrates the Australian-Italian Festival in May - a feast of Italian wine, cuisine, music and culture.
Finding Our Ingham Motel
The Herbert Valley Motel is located 110 kilometres north of Townsville and 220 kilometres south of Cairns. If you are travelling from the train and coach terminal, turn left and south into Townsville Road and the motel entrance is 700 metres south, then turn right into motel. If you are travelling from the airport turn left into Townsville Road and north and the motrel entrance is 500 metres on the left.
