It is built on the first piece of freehold land, five minutes walk from the Weir. Built in 1898, the Mundaring Weir Hotel has a rich history with many of the materials for the construction brought out to Australia from England by sailing ship.

The hotel room are situated in the Hotel gardens; with some units overlooking the pool area, and others the forest. The units are made up as twins or doubles, and some also have bunk beds. All the units have open fireplaces as well as electric heaters and ceiling fans.

The drive from Kalamunda is very scenic with colourful wildflowers along the roadside and at dusk kangaroos can be seen grazing. Mundaring is less than an hour from the heart of Perth, you can enjoy the beauty of the Australian bush and tranquillity of the country lifestyle.

Outdoor Amphitheatre - Entertainment

Outdoor concerts have taken place at the Mundaring Weir Hotel since the summer of 1985 when David Helfgott performed his first outdoor recital at the Hotel. A stage was erected at the side of the pool for David and the piano. Chairs were put all around the pool, and in the garden area. It was a sell-out success with over 800 people attending. People were sitting on the footpath, in garden beds and staircases. This was the start of what has become a very popular venue now with a capacity for over 1200 people.

Conferences, Meetings, Seminars and Weddings

The Hotel gardens and Federation design provide the perfect backdrop for your special event. Have your wedding reception in our turn of the century style restaurant, a delightful dining room of polished Jarrah, stained glass and open fires with a 95 seat capacity. Dance the night away in the C.Y O'Connor Ballroom adjacent to the restaurant area.

From a single day seminar to a week long conference, the Mundaring Weir Hotel can cater for your needs. This includes accommodation, meals and seminar room as well as use of the amenities.

The Mundaring Weir Hotel Coffee Shop is open on Sundays and most public holidays for lunch, coffee and refreshments. Hundreds of people enjoy their meals in a relaxed atmosphere either inside or in the gardens. We serve Counter Meals as well as Wood Fired Pizzas and Baguettes. Coffee, Cakes and Ice creams are available for after lunch treats.

Things to See and Do in Mundaring Weir:

The hotel is at the centre of many walk trails meandering through the state Jarrah Forest and around the Weir. Endless opportunities for short or long bush walks. Two new walk trails have just been completed by the National Trust, a 2 km walk and a 5 km walk. Both of these give a wonderful interpretation of the Weir and it surroundings as you walk. The 963.1km Bibbulmun track goes past the Hotel, the terminus is 50km away in Kalamunda. Staff will be happy to give you more details. Remember to wear sensible footwear and clothing, always carry water and be prepared for weather changes in Winter.

Finding Us

From Mundaring - Follow Great Eastern Highway until you reach Mundaring Town Site. Turn right at the traffic lights, follow the signs to the Mundaring Weir Road, we are 7 kms from the Mundaring town site.

From Kalamunda
- Follow the Mundaring Weir Road from Kalamunda for approximately 18km. This route takes you past the Weir, up the hill, first road on the right, big sign, can't miss it.
